Privacy Policy

Who we are

Green Vault is an online, members-only store for adults aged 18 and over, based in Johannesburg, South Africa. We have no walk-in premises. In this policy "we", "us" and "our" mean Green Vault, and "you" means anyone who visits greenvault.co.za, creates a member account or places an order.

Information we collect

• Account details: your name, email address and password when you create a member account. Passwords are stored in protected form and we cannot read them.
• Order details: your name, email address, phone number, delivery address or chosen PUDO locker, what you ordered and what you paid.
• Payment information: card payments are handled by our payment provider on its own secure page. We receive confirmation of whether a payment succeeded. We do not store your card number.
• Messages: anything you send us through the contact form, by email or in a support ticket, and any product review you choose to submit.
• Age confirmation: a yes or no answer that you are 18 or older. We do not ask for or store your date of birth or identity number for this.
• Technical information: basic details your browser sends, such as pages viewed and device type. See our cookie policy.

Why we use it

• To process, pack and deliver your order and to take payment for it.
• To send order confirmations, payment links and dispatch and tracking updates by email and WhatsApp.
• To answer your questions and deal with any problem with an order.
• To run your member account, including your order history and saved addresses.
• To confirm that visitors and members are adults.
• To send marketing emails if you have subscribed. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link and you can opt out at any time.
• To keep the site secure, prevent fraud and meet our legal and record-keeping duties.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who need it to do their job for us:

• Payment providers, to process your card payment.
• Couriers and locker networks, including The Courier Guy and PUDO, to deliver your order. They receive your name, phone number and delivery address or locker.
• Email and messaging providers, to deliver order emails, WhatsApp updates and, if you subscribed, marketing emails.
• Website hosting and software providers, who store the site and its data on our behalf.

Some of these providers store or process information outside South Africa. We may also disclose information where the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes above and to meet legal record-keeping requirements. When it is no longer needed we delete it or remove the details that identify you.

How we protect it

The site is served over an encrypted connection, payments are handled on the payment provider's secure page, and access to customer records is limited to staff who need it. No online service can promise absolute security, but if a breach affecting your information occurs we will tell you and the Information Regulator as the law requires.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you and request a copy.
• Ask us to correct or delete information that is wrong, out of date or no longer needed.
• Object to how we use your information, and withdraw consent to marketing at any time.
• Complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa if you believe we have mishandled your information.

To use any of these rights, email orders@greenvault.co.za. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

Children

Green Vault is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed.
