Where to Buy Weed in Johannesburg: Areas Covered

By Green Vault Editorial Team · Published 2026-09-10 · Updated 2026-09-30

The simplest way to buy weed in Johannesburg is to order online from a store that delivers. Green Vault is a members-only online cannabis store based in Johannesburg for adults 18 and over: order before 2pm and your order is dispatched the same day, usually arriving in 1 working day, at your door or a Courier Guy PUDO locker anywhere in Joburg. There is no walk-in shop. Everything you need is on our weed dispensary Johannesburg page.

Where can I buy weed in Johannesburg?

In Johannesburg you can buy weed from online stores that deliver, from walk-in shops and private clubs run by other businesses, or from informal sellers. Online delivery is the option most people now use because it is private, you can see what you are getting before you pay, and you do not have to go anywhere.

Before you choose, know the law. Adults may use and possess cannabis in private, but buying and selling cannabis outside licensed medical and hemp channels is not covered by that protection. Our guide on whether weed is legal in South Africa sets out what is and is not allowed, with sources. Check the current position yourself.

Which Johannesburg areas does Green Vault deliver to?

Green Vault delivers to every part of Johannesburg and the rest of Gauteng. Each area below has its own page with local delivery details:

Beyond Joburg we also cover Centurion, Pretoria and Vanderbijlpark, and every other Gauteng area listed on our Gauteng delivery page. If your suburb is not in the table, you are still covered: we deliver across all of Johannesburg and Gauteng, and to the rest of South Africa by courier.

Is there a walk-in weed shop in Johannesburg?

Green Vault does not have a walk-in shop, counter or lounge anywhere; we are online only and deliver to you. Other businesses in Joburg do run walk-in shops and private clubs, so the choice is really between walking in somewhere and having an order delivered.

Here is how the three main options compare:

An online store suits people who want to plan ahead and have it arrive without going out. A walk-in shop suits people who want it in their hand today and do not mind travelling. We would steer everyone away from informal sellers, for the reasons in the next section.

Where can I buy dagga in Johannesburg?

You buy dagga in Johannesburg the same way you buy weed, because dagga is simply the long-standing South African word for cannabis. Whether you say dagga, zol, weed or ganja, Green Vault's weed dispensary Johannesburg page is where to start, and everything is delivered to your door or a PUDO locker.

If you are curious where these words come from, read what is zol, our guide to South African cannabis slang.

How do you spot a trustworthy weed seller in Joburg?

A trustworthy seller checks your age, shows you what you are buying before you pay, takes secure payment and tells you plainly when your order will arrive. Use this checklist before you order from anyone:

• They check that you are 18 or older. A seller who does not ask is not one to trust.
• Product details are clear. Strain name, format, weight or size, and strength should be on the product page, not only in a WhatsApp message.
• Payment is secure. Card payment at checkout is safer than an EFT to a personal bank account or cash at a meet-up.
• Delivery promises are realistic. Be wary of "guaranteed in one hour" claims. A real business tells you its cut-off time and when orders usually arrive.
• There is a way to contact them. A contact form, an email address and a support system are signs of a real business.
• They make no medical claims. Anyone saying their weed cures or treats something is not being straight with you.
• Packaging is sealed and plain. Nobody else needs to know what is in the parcel.

Green Vault meets each of these: members confirm they are 18+, every product page shows strain type and strength from our product data, you pay by card at checkout, parcels are sealed and unbranded, and you can reach us through the contact form or at orders@greenvault.co.za. We usually reply the same day.

How does ordering from Green Vault work in Joburg?

Ordering takes a few minutes once you are a member, and membership is free.

1. Register and confirm you are 18 or older. You only do this once.
2. Choose your products in the store. Each product page shows a live "Receive by" date before you pay.
3. Pick delivery. Door delivery, or a Courier Guy PUDO locker near you.
4. Pay by card at checkout. No cash, no meet-ups.
5. Track it. You get a tracking email with a Track button, plus WhatsApp updates when your order is dispatched.
6. Receive it. Orders placed before 2pm are dispatched the same day and usually arrive in 1 working day. Later orders go out the next working day. If you chose a locker, you open it with the PIN sent to your checkout mobile number.
